Articulate 360 is a product from Articulate, launched in November 2016. Its presentation to the general public promised that every e-learning developer would have all the necessary tools to build full-featured e-learning courses. Or, if we want to be literal: “Everything you need for course development in one convenient subscription”.

Articulate also has two other quite popular products: Storyline 2 and Storyline 3, which are sold with a perpetual license. The new thing is that Articulate 360 is offered on a subscription basis - with an annual renewal plan.

Articulate 360 is a package of nine applications: Storyline 360, Studio 360, Replay 360, Peek, Preso, Content Library, Articulate Review, Articulate Live and Rise. The subscription to the program gives access to each of the above applications with the ambition to satisfy all the requirements of specialists during the development of online learning content.

Here is a brief description of each of the applications in Articulate 360:

- Articulate Storyline 360 (Desktop) - allows you to create interactive learning content and responsive courses that dynamically adapt to any screen size. It has a built-in player. Through Storyline 360, an unlimited number of interactions can be created quite easily by both experts and beginners. The built-in library contains 1.5 million photos, vectors, icons and the built-in Articulate Review.

- Studio 360 (Desktop) is an application for computers with Windows installed. It includes a/ Presenter 360, which can be used to create courses based on presentations, b/ Quizmaker 360 - with it you can create questionnaires and surveys.

- Preso: (iPad) - this is an iPad app that allows you to create educational videos with text and images, attached PDFs, animations, etc.

- Replay 360: (Desktop) an application for video recording for creating educational videos. Convenient for screen recording and creating training on how to use software programs.

- Articulate Review: (Web based) a commenting application through which all comments for a given course can be gathered in one place, regardless of whether it was created with Storyline 360, Studio 360, Replay 360, Peek or Preso. Communication between the team members developing the course is improved and localized in one place.

- Peek: (Desktop): intended for screen recording, where you can customize and make changes directly during the recording. Easy to use, and sharing can be done directly by sharing a link.

Will the new product be liked by customers and experts?
There are different reviews for Articulate 360.

What users like:
New users like ‘Articulate Review’ because it gives training designers the ability to work as a team and coordinate efforts on creating training and making corrections without using spreadsheets. ‘Articulate Rise’ can create a training design that is fully responsive. It has 7 types of ready-made e-learning designs built in, which allows eLearning developers to quickly create interactive training and at the same time check how the training behaves on different mobile devices such as tablets, phones, etc. Longtime Storyline users who have switched to Storyline 360 believe that the new software is more intuitive, and the transitions are smoother.
The built-in Content Library in Articulate Storyline 360 with images and professional templates also delights designers.

And there are disadvantages too. Previous Articulate customers, although they have a perpetual license for Articulate Storyline 2 and Articulate Storyline 3 products, cannot use Articulate Storyline 360 unless they purchase a separate subscription. The subscription price makes it difficult for small companies, freelancers and educational institutions. Another difficulty is the fact that, in order to be used on a Mac, Articulate Storyline 360 requires additional software. Another annoying fact is that freelancers often do not need all the applications described above, and buying the entire package is financially burdensome for them.

Of course, time and the market will show how Articulate 360 software will develop, but the fact is that Articulate is strongly promoting it, highlighting its rich functionality and capabilities.
